Kaash mere hote
KAASHH… MERE HOTE! relies on the age-old tricks that made masala films so popular with viewers in 1970s and 1980s. The movie throws logic out of the window [the obsessed girl is blessed with super-natural powers], songs keep popping up every 10 minutes..
The Stoneman Murders
THE STONEMAN MURDERS is a refreshing change from the crass and vulgar films churned out in the name of middle-of-the-road cinema. Watch it!
Kisse Pyaar Karoon
KISSE PYAAR KAROON? uses every rule in the book to entertain the viewer. It borrows heavily from all masala films that one has watched and admired over the years. To give the credit where it’s due, a few scenes are indeed funny.
Dev. D
There’s a major difference between K.L. Saigal, Dilip Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and Abhay Deol’s Devdas. The first three films were faithful to Sarat Chandra’s legendary novella, while Anurag Kashyap’s deviant take on Devdas is contemporary and in the process, differs from the original work.
